SOAP

SCRIPTURE | OBSERVATION | APPLICATION | PRAYER

WHAT IS SOAP?

SOAP stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer.  It is meant to be a discipleship tool and is a practical way to encourage your kids to develop healthy times with God.  SOAP can be done in any journal or notebook at home, or you can download a copy here.

As we spend time with God, we hear from Him.  He prompts us and guides us by His Holy Spirit as we read His word and pray.

We hope you'll use this tool at home as a means to have conversations with your child(ren) about God and His word.

SOAP HOW-TO:

Follow the below instructions step by step.  Once you've completed step four, you've completed your SOAP for that particular day!  Do your best to make it a daily habit!

1

SCRIPTURE

Read: Acts 2:1-4

In your journal, write an "S".  Write down the scripture you read.  If it's longer than one verse, write down the verse that stuck out the most to you.

2

OBSERVATION

In your journal, write an "O".  Write what you think God is saying in this scripture.

3

APPLICATION

On the next line, write an "A".  Write down what you think God wants you to do about this Scripture.

4

PRAYER

Once you're finished pray and ask God to live the Scripture out in your life.  Listen to what He speaks to you.
