Since moving to Jersey City in 1993, Riverside continues to grow and serve others through its various ministries. Riverside has a heart for its community and is always finding ways to connect with people. Currently, there are over nineteen ministries that work together to become the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). Whether there are food pantries, clothing donations, or community outreaches, Riverside's goal is to share the love of God with others.
As of January 2018, Pastor JohnPaul Mansour became the Senior Pastor of Riverside Church along with his wife Jowita Mansour. Pastor JohnPaul and Jowita are passionate about telling people about the love of Jesus. Jowita serves as the worship team leader and faithfully does so every Sunday morning. Together they have three handsome sons; Noah, Nathan, and Matthew. Riverside Church has six board members who serve as advisory counsel to the Senior Pastor.
We exist to share the love of Jesus and the good news of His redemptive work on the cross.
We seek to live in such a way that puts Jesus at the center of everything we do.
We do whatever it takes to go outside our walls into our city and our world to share the love of Jesus.
We recognize just how BIG our God is and so we dream big. We seek to do our best in all that we set our hands to do.
We're a family. We don't want you to go through life alone, we want to walk with you. We seek to cultivate a true and authentic community that encourages one another in the faith.
Riverside Church has a rich history that dates back to the year of 1982. The church was established in Hoboken, New Jersey under the leadership of Pastor Gerard Cleffi. The church would meet at a congregant's home located on 214 Bloomfield Ave as a place of worship. As Riverside grew in number, they moved from Hoboken to many different schools that would accommodate the number of people they had. When the homeowner of 214 Bloomfield Ave passed away, he willed his home to Pastor Cleffi. Pastor Cleffi sold the house and purchased the church building where Riverside Church sits today.
